Bubble Lamp Collection
A proposed collection of woven fabrics for light fixtures inspired by the material quality of skin. This collection of application sketches created on photoshop and weaving files compatible with a Compu dobby loom were created during the limited circumstances of the 2020 Covid-Lockdowns to illustrate the dimensional possibilities of these fabrics on light fixtures.
Inspiration
I'm interested in the luminosity, transparency and layering qualities of skin. In examining how skin functions in the natural world I took from the viceral qualities of molting in animals and peeling after sunburns to inform the aesthetics and functionality of this collection.
